Our First London City Guide

Our First London City Guide

With its world-class restaurants, luxury shopping districts and iconic skyline, it’s no surprise that London is one of the most loved cities in Europe.

If you’re thinking of heading into London for the weekend, finding something to do can be overwhelming. That’s why our hospitality marketing agency have created a mini-guide to help inspire your next trip to the capital.

How to get around.

When travelling around London, leave the car at home and jump on the train. Public transport is the fastest and easiest way around the city. While travel cards can be pricey from commuter towns, they do cover both buses and trains in zones 1-6.

However, if you’re looking to take advantage of the beautiful weather, you can always use a Santander Cycle. While it isn’t necessarily the quickest, they are easily accessible and incredibly cheap; with rides starting from as little as £2. Alternatively, why not use one of London’s famous black cabs.

Where to wake up.

As ahospitality marketing agency, we could go on forever about the best places to eat in London. For those planning on staying the weekend, we recommend The Breakfast Clubas a great morning option. Like an American diner, minus the grease, The Breakfast Club has everything you could want to start the day. Just make sure to get there early to skip the queue and avoid the hungover crowd!

Where to explore.

With so much to see and do in London, your weekend is bound to be jam-packed! A good option for families of all ages is the Natural History Museum. It is completely free, with lots to see and do and will keep you entertained for hours.

For Horrible History fans, our hospitality marketing team recommends the Jack the Ripper tour of Whitechapel. At just £10, the tours are a great way to explore the darker side of London’s past; one you can’t afford to miss.

Where to shop.

It wouldn’t be a weekend in London without a bit of retail therapy! While Stratford and Oxford Street are the go-to places, there are so many hidden gems you wouldn’t have initially thought to look. If you’re a lover of all things weird and wonderful, then Camden Market is the place for you. Once a haven for the alternative community, Camden has become a tourist hub, with quirky markets to suit a variety of fashion tastes. With over 1000 stalls and shops, it’s impossible to leave without grabbing a bargain and some great street food.

For those looking for something a bit higher end, Carnaby Street is perfect for people who love fashion and beauty. From Adidas to True Religion, there are over 70 brands that reside within the Instagramable street; just make sure your wallet is well prepared!
